Description

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, I was an aspiring Renamon artist that was voraciously gobbling up every respectable piece of Renamon-Related fanart or screen-shot I could find, so that I could study the look and lines of her body/figure. Unfortunately, good art was hard to come by since most of it was in the T for Teen or M for mature category....

This guy Karabiner, was a really good Renamon fanartist a while back (though I think he got outta the game years ago) and is basically the biggest reference I used, since most of his art was hyper-realistic and rife with good detail. He drew a good many as well, which temporarily helped, since it seemed all the good art was only 1 or 2 pictures done by someone who was commissioned, and didn't specialize in Digimon fanart. I think somebody named Megawolf (Icewolf?) drew a pretty comprehensive tutorial as well, but I never found it until well after I was already drawing Renamon.... TT^TT

Anyway, the reason I drew this picture was hopefully for someone else out there like me, snapping up every good image they can find of her, so that they could teach themselves how to draw her. I didn't have anything like this back then, so I'm making up for that now. ^.^

The tragic thing, as always, is my near-miss with perfect recreation. The original REAL Vitruvian Man drawing, only had the arms of the human at the 11:05 o'clock position, and the 10:10 o'clock position, with triangles and squares to help emphasize the symmetry of the human body in addition to the circle. Mine doesn't. -.-' It does however, boast an additional 4 "sets" of arms, though none of them match the original positions on the drawing. Still, I'm quite proud of this little piece; it took me two tries to get it right. I like the pupil-less eyes, as well. It really gives a sense of incompletion to a simple anatomy drawing. That, or and I think she looks cool without pupils/etc.

[ Note: This picture, as all of mine it seems, has some errors, notably the inconsistent length of the arms. Try to fix that you newbie artists! >.< ]

I really like the concept of this. As it is just a sketch, I am sure it can be improved in some ways before a final masterpiece shows up. Here is a tip:
You said the arms were inconsistent. I know how this feels when drawing. When drawing with pencil on a paper, it is almost impossible, without instruments, to draw symmetrical. However, you can draw one half of the body on paper, and then mirror it on a computer to the other side. Then you get perfect symmetry.
Other than some flaws regarding her anatomy in this picture, you forgot her tail. ;D

I have a LOT of renamon anatomy written down on a paper, and it's mostly about the proportions of Renamon (yes, I make science about a digimon. It's just who I am =P).
If you would like to have my notes about her anatomy, please ask. I'd be happy to give it to you either as a picture or in plain text.

As said, lovely concept, and good luck in future drawings!
